KUALA LUMPUR, April 11 — Assunta Hospital has appointed Wilson Choo, with 29 years’ experience in the health care industry, as its new chief executive officer (CEO) effective March 16.
Choo started his career in the health care industry as an accountant, and has extensive experience in finance, operations, project management, and commissioning of hospitals in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines.
Prior to joining Assunta Hospital, Choo served in several senior positions within Sunway Healthcare Group. Choo will spearhead the growth of the hospital and realise the success of its five-year blueprint. The blueprint focuses on physical and infrastructure improvement and the upgrading of medical equipment, and also reinforces Assunta Hospital’s brand of compassionate health care, and its transformation into a digital hospital.
Assunta Hospital has also recently procured a new 3 Tesla MRI machine, to commence operations in the first half of 2022. It will also be installing its second CT scan machine, equipped with the latest 640 Slice technology, which is expected to be in service by the third quarter of the year.
Assunta Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital, and up to 50 per cent of its surplus profits is channelled into its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme via the Assunta Integrated Social Service (ASSISS).
ASSISS’s primary focus is providing free health care to the poor and needy, regardless of race, colour, or creed.
